  4. FLOPYCAT Version 2.2 is a ShareWare program that runs under Windows 3.x,
  5. Windows 95 or Windows NT
  6.  
  7. To install the package, proceed as follows:
  8.  
  9. 1)   Install the distribution disk in a floppy disk drive. (If you received
  10.      FLOPYCAT as a ZIP file (FLOPYC22.ZIP), then do:
  11.      a) Create a new directory (eg: C:\TEMP)
  12.      b) PKUNZIP the FLOPYC22.ZIP file into that directory
  13.  
  14. 2) In Windows Program Manager, click on the FILE menu item and then on the RUN
  15.    menu entry. Enter the following in the box labelled "Command Line"
  16.    a)  A:\SETUP       (if you installed the FLOPYCAT disk in drive A)
  17.    b)  C:\TEMP\SETUP  (if you UNZIPPED the FLOPYC22.ZIP file)

  19. 3) Answer the question setup asks about where you want FLOPYCAT installed.
  20.    If you see any messages of the form:
  21.        "xxxxxxxx.DLL is in use. Please close all applicatons and re-attempt
  22.        Setup" followed by three options: ABORT    RETRY   IGNORE
  23.    you can safely click on the IGNORE box. This is a known problem with
  24.    Microsoft Application Installations and will not affect your install.

  26. 4) When the installation is finished (about 5 minutes), there will be a new
  27.    Group on your Program Manager desktop named FLOPYCAT, containing an item
  28.    labelled FLOPYCAT.  Double-click on the FLOPYCAT item to start FLOPYCAT.

  30. 5) This program is written in Microsoft Visual Basic, and therefore it needs
  31.    the file: VBRUN300.DLL (which must be installed in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM 
  32.    directory).  If you do not have this file, you can download VBRUN300.EXE
  33.    from many Internet sites (login as user ANONYMOUS). Some to look at are:
  34.        ftp.microsoft.com\Softlib\MSLFILES\vbrun300.exe
  35.        ftp.agt.net\pub\cica-win3\util\vbrun300.exe
  36.    VBRUN300.EXE is a self-extracting ZIP file - just run it to create the
  37.    file VBRUN300.DLL then MOVE that file to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

  39. Please note that this is a ShareWare package.  If you plan to keep and use
  40. FLOPYCAT, please register your copy, and thanks for trying FLOPYCAT.
